The Herdade encompasses 6 hectares of vineyards, 6.5 hectares of olive groves, 1.4 hectares of almond orchards and 1 hectare dedicated to gardens and aromatic plants.

In addition, there are 27 hectares of traditional montado woodland.

Everything created here begins in the soil, and it is this ancient and patient cycle that is shared with those who visit.

Wines

The vineyard

The estate's six-hectare vineyard was planted as part of the property's regeneration and comprises eight grape varieties.

White varieties include Semillon, Alvarinho, Viognier and Verdelho. Red varieties include Petit Verdot, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Sousão.

Each variety was carefully selected for the warm, dry climate and the estate's rare clay-limestone and pebble-rich soils.

The wines

The Herdade Torre Vã wines tell the story of where they come from.

They carry the flavours of the Alentejo, the warmth of the plains and the patience of a land that allows everything to mature at its own pace.

The result is a collection of balanced, expressive wines with a strong sense of identity. Produced through sustainable farming and integrated production methods, they are crafted with absolute respect for the grapes and the surrounding ecosystem.

Winery

The space

Torre Vã’s winery is defined by contemporary architecture that blends naturally into the estate’s landscape.

From vineyard to glass, every step respects the rhythm of the land and the identity of the place.

Alongside it, the tasting room invites guests to discover the estate’s wines and the winemaking culture that has long been part of Alentejo’s heritage.

Agricultural production

Beyond the vineyard lie olive groves, almond orchards, aromatic herbs and fruit trees. Together they create a landscape that accompanies guests throughout the estate.

Walking through these fields is an invitation to discover the rural life of the Alentejo at a slower pace.

Ancient knowledge, gestures repeated for generations and a land that continues to teach those willing to listen.

Olive groves

The Alentejo produces some of Portugal's finest olive oil, and Torre Vã is part of that tradition with its 6.5 hectares of olive groves.

The Herdade also has its own olive mill, open to visitors who wish to see first-hand how olives are transformed into olive oil.

A simple process, repeated for centuries and still very much alive today.

Almond orchard

The almond orchard covers 1.4 hectares.

In spring, it is among the first signs that the year is beginning anew, its blossoms appearing before almost any other tree.

The seasonal cycles of Alentejo tradition.

Aromatic herbs

At the heart of the estate, a garden of aromatic herbs scents the pathways and follows the rhythm of the seasons.

Amid its fragrances lies the open-air spa, a place where nature, wellbeing, and the landscape come together in perfect harmony.
