Where the landscape is generous, and every fruit tells the story of the estate.
Since its origin, Herdade da Torre Vã has been a land of production and care. Its rural character remains alive in the vast agricultural areas that shape the territory and nourish the hotel's identity today. Across 6 hectares of vineyards, 6.5 hectares of olive groves, 1.4 hectares of almond trees, and 1 hectare of gardens, orchards, and aromatic plants, the estate breathes abundance and authenticity.
To this productive mosaic, we also add the imposing presence of the cork oak forest (montado), which occupies 27 preserved and valued hectares. This emblematic ecosystem is more than just a landscape: it is a biodiversity reserve and a living heritage of the Alentejo that continues to shape how the property relates to the land.
Here, everything is born from the soil, and everything returns to it, in a natural cycle that honors agricultural tradition and nourishes the guest experience.

Wines

An expression of the Alentejo, created within the serenity of Torre Vã.
Located in the heart of the Alentejo wine region, Herdade da Torre Vã makes wine production one of its core identity pillars. The climate, the gentle altitude, and the soil composition create privileged conditions for viticulture, allowing each harvest to translate the unique character of the Baixo Alentejo.
The viticultural focus of the project is clear: to produce high-quality wines that reflect the terroir, the light, and the personality of the estate.

The vineyard

Six hectares of origin, eight grape varieties, a territory revealing itself in every cluster.
The redevelopment of the estate included the planting of the vineyard, carefully designed to respect the terrain and enhance the site's natural conditions. The grape varieties were meticulously chosen—four red and four white—for their adaptation to the hot, dry climate of the Baixo Alentejo, the clay-limestone soils, and the generous sun exposure.
This balance between science, tradition, and viticultural sensitivity allows the vineyard to grow sustainably and with the distinct character that defines Torre Vã wines.

The wines

Eight grape varieties, a unique terroir, and the drive to create excellence.
The wine project at Torre Vã was developed from the ground up and is expressed through a vineyard with eight carefully selected grape varieties:
White:Semillon, Alvarinho, Viognier, and Verdelho.
Red: Petit Verdot, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, and Sousão.
Planted in clay-limestone and pebble soils, the vineyard benefits from a terroir that is rare in the region, allowing for the production of balanced, expressive wines with a clear identity. This is combined with sustainable and precision agriculture practices under integrated production, ensuring respect for the ecosystem and superior grape quality.
The result is wines that hold within them the essence of the estate: the light of the Alentejo, the texture of the soil, the silence of the plains, and the generous time that allows everything to ripen slowly.

Winery

Where wine is born from the earth and the experience gains depth.
At Herdade da Torre Vã, wine is an expression of the landscape, agricultural history, and the innovation that defines the project. The cellar unites Alentejo tradition, contemporary oenological techniques, and a commitment to sustainability.
Here, with time and precision, the raw material is transformed into wines that reflect the character of the Baixo Alentejo. For guests and visitors, it is a space for discovery—where one learns, savors, and understands the essence of what is born from the earth. Tastings and samplings make the visit rich and memorable.

The space

New architecture, ancient soul — a cellar designed for excellence.
Built from the ground up during the estate's redevelopment, the Torre Vã cellar is modern, efficient, and equipped to produce high-quality wines, uniting innovation, precision, and respect for the terroir.
The architecture integrates seamlessly into the estate’s ensemble, creating a functional and luminous space that follows the entire cycle, from grape to glass.
Alongside it, the tasting and sampling space allows guests and visitors to discover the grape varieties, winemaking techniques, and the oenological interpretation that brings the wines to life, strengthening Torre Vã’s position as a wine tourism destination in the Alentejo.

Agricultural production

The authenticity of the experience is born from the land that nourishes the estate.
Herdade da Torre Vã is, first and foremost, a productive landscape. Beyond the vineyard that shapes a large part of the territory, the estate integrates olive groves, almond orchards, aromatic plants, and fruit trees, creating a true agricultural mosaic that accompanies the guest throughout their stay.
These production areas are not just part of the scenery; they are a gateway to Alentejo’s rural culture. By walking through them, visitors encounter the traditions, knowledge, and agricultural practices that have defined the character of this region for centuries. Here, the land continues to teach, and this proximity makes the tourism experience richer and more authentic.

Olive groves

The tradition of olive oil in a territory shaped by sun and silence.
The Alentejo is the largest olive oil-producing region in Portugal, and Torre Vã is part of that identity. Its dispersed olive grove takes advantage of the dry and luminous climatic conditions that make Alentejo olive oil so distinct.

Almond trees

The flavor of the landscape, cultivated with precision and time.
The soil and climatic conditions of the Alentejo make it one of the most favorable regions for nut production—and the almond orchard at Torre Vã is a prime example. The orchard adds agricultural diversity to the estate and strengthens the hotel’s connection to the region's traditional crops.
The almond orchard is more than just production: it is also fragrance, blossom, and season—a cycle that guests can observe up close, perceiving how the land dictates the rhythm of the year.

Aromatic herbs

The garden that perfumes the estate and inspires the table.
At the heart of Herdade da Torre Vã lies a unique pleasure garden, dedicated to the cultivation of aromatic herbs chosen for their affinity with wine aromas and the gastronomic potential of Alentejo cuisine.
The rows of herbs lead the visitor through a succession of orchards: stone fruits and other fruit trees that complete this productive garden. This environment also integrates the open-air sensory SPA, allowing well-being to be accompanied by the natural scents of the territory.
Here, cultivation is not just a function—it is experience, identity, and inspiration.
