Herdade Torre Vã is an ideal starting point for discovering the region. Nearby, centuries of history await exploration: castles, churches, archaeological sites, villages and towns that seem to have paused in time.

The coast is also within easy reach, wild beaches, dunes, dramatic cliffs and the untamed Atlantic coastline of the Alentejo.

For nature lovers, there is another hidden treasure: the Alentejo is one of the best birdwatching destinations in Portugal.

Experiences

Days at Torre Vã naturally fill themselves. Morning Tennis matches, horseback rides across the estate or afternoon wine tastings at the winery.

At night, the absence of city lights reveals spectacular star-filled skies, while wildlife observation experiences offer a glimpse into the region's natural richness.

Each activity provides a different way to connect with this land

Events

Some places are made for gathering and Herdade da Torre Vã is one of them.

Celebrations, weddings, corporate meetings, conferences and special occasions find their setting here.

The Restaurant, Innovation Hub and gardens each offer a distinct atmosphere, united by the same Alentejo light and tranquillity.

Attractions

There is much to discover around the estate. Medieval castles, historic churches, archaeological sites and viewpoints overlooking endless plains.

Several of these landmarks are recognised by UNESCO.

Three beaches are particularly worth the journey: Comporta, Aberta Nova and Melides.

Comporta Beach

Golden dunes, endless stretches of sand and crystal-clear waters.

Behind them, pine forests and rice fields complete the landscape.

Comporta possesses the rare ability to feel effortlessly elegant.

Aberta Nova Beach

Near Melides, Aberta Nova remains much as it has always been: vast, almost untouched and protected by high dunes. Here, the wind and the sea set the pace.

The horizon belongs entirely to those who enjoy wandering without destination.

Melides Beach

A long sandy shoreline with clear waters, dunes and the nearby Melides Lagoon.

While it offers beach facilities, restaurants and parking, it retains its authentic simplicity. Simply follow the sound of the ocean.

Messejana

Whitewashed houses trimmed in blue and streets where time slows down.Messejana preserves medieval ruins and historic churches, yet it is not defined solely by its past.

Creative spaces and artists from around the world bring new energy to this charming village.

Neves-Corvo Mine

Discovered in 1977 and operating since 1988, Neves-Corvo is one of Europe's largest underground mines.

It reveals a different side of the Alentejo: a region whose wealth is found not only in the landscape above, but also deep beneath the earth.
